Week 7 - Family of God
Week 7 — Family of God
Abide & Move Devotional Series
Scripture: 1 John 3:1
"See how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know Him." — 1 John 3:1
Awaken
- Read the Scripture slowly, awakening to the fact that you are not just saved—you are adopted. You are a child of God, part of His family.
-
Acknowledge God's presence and the connection to His family.
-
Whisper: "I belong to the people of God."
Abide
-
Meditate on the idea of spiritual community and your role within it.
Move (Embodied Response)
-
Lift hands in gratitude for your spiritual family.
-
Sway gently or step side to side as you reflect on your place in God's body.
Declaration
I am a child of God. I belong to His family. I know who I am.
Reflect
- What does it mean to be called a child of God?
- How does being part of God's family change the way I relate to other believers?
-
How can I actively support or encourage others this week?
-
Where do I feel most connected to God's family?
Live It Out
This week, reach out to one person in the family of God. Encourage them, pray for them, or simply remind them that they belong.
